My background is primarily running small businesses. For as long as I can remember, I have had an entrepreneurial spirit. One of my earliest memories was in fourth grade. We had a weekly marketplace and my booth sold consulting services to other students. I helped them come up with a product and learn how to showcase it at subsequent marketplace event. Education, teaching, and facilitation come naturally to me. In one way or another, I have been involved in teaching either for fun or as a career. I currently own four small businesses.
In addition to running small businesses, I began volunteering for nonprofits as a board member. My nonprofit training has come in several forms. My first learning experiences were a bit of trial by fire as I took on a presidency while still quite green. From there, I attended trainings and read a whole pile of books. I worked casually with several nonprofits and then eventually formalized it into something I knew would be helpful and yet attainable for smaller organizations.
When I am not working, I co-exist with four cats and travel whenever and wherever I can.
